IW&SP: 8 Italian wines tasting
On 9th of November 2015, IW&SP (Italian Wine & Style Promotion) - a consortium of 9 quality wine producers from 4 important wine regions of Italy - organized a wine tasting at Enoteca Italiana/Shanghai Yishang venue.

Shanghai, Gambero Rosso TRE BICCHIERI 2015
Tre Bicchieri World Tour is a roadshow dedicated exclusively to wines awarded with the “Three Glasses” (Tre Bicchieri), the most prestigious award for Italian wines.
The Tre Bicchieri World Tour came in Shanghai, the Chinese financial capital, on November 2nd, providing an unique opportunity for professionals and wine lovers, to meet personally the winemakers. The event attracted, as usual, more than 1200 guests, who tasted the very best of Italian wines presented by more than 100 producers.
The new Chinese edition of the Italian Wine Guide (Vini d’Italia) will also be presented. The most widely read and authoritative in the world, Italian Wine Guide 2015 includes reviews and notes on 2402 wineries, over 20000 wines of which 423 labels have been awarded “Tre Bicchieri“.

Focus: Prosecco in China
Italy is the 2nd largest “sparkling” exporter - after France - in value with 840 million €, 1st exporter in volume with 2.4 million hl
Prosecco with 540 million € represents 60% of global Italian sparkling export
China imports 3.97 million € of Prosecco which represents 33% of total Italian sparkling import
Prosecco export is a very concentrated market, the first 3 destination countries account for 62% of the global market, the first 10 countries account for 85%
China is the 14th destination country, with 3.97 million € which represents 0.8% of the global Prosecco export

-3.48% Italian wine in China
In the first half year of 2015, it seemed that the wine market was rebounding.
According to data from CAWS (China Association of Importer & Export of Wine & Spirit), 1st semester of 2015 saw imported wine total +30.7% (value, year/year), bottled wine category (which excludes sparkling and bulk wine) +33.2% (value, year/year).
-3.48% Italian bottled wine in China
Italy, the 5th largest exporter with 4.79% market share, registered an increase of + 21,20% in quantity (over 15 million bottles), but a decrease of 3.48% in value (about 37 million Euro), as a result the average price dropped below 2.5 Euro/bottle (750 ml)
