Blue wine tasted in Singapore
I have read some time ago that in Spain someone was producing a wine blue in color. I thought it is some enologist laboratory experiment and I didn’t expect to find it on the shelves of a Singapore wine shop. Obviously could not resist and I’ve got one bottle (price point helped, only 19 SGD equal to 12 Euro).

Barbera d’Asti DOCG 2010: 8 years and still well alive
Pleased to be invited by Max and Jessica, we had a nice late dinner on their terrace enjoy a lovely Shanghai alfresco summer night.
After the fist bottle of wine, we open the second one, it supposes to be a technical tasting to evaluate how a simple wine (in this case simple means no wood ageing contribution) could decrease after 8 years.
Very surprised to find out that Barbera is not dead, has not passed its peak, instead it is still well alive, fresh and flavorful.

2018 SIAL (Shanghai): Italian sounding and copyright
2021 03 30 UPDATE
Myself, Vito Donatiello, the author of these 2 pictures, has received an email from mr V.K. suggesting to mention the name of the producer of these wines and so i do below:
“You are showcasing the Georgian wine brands (with the picture of Joseph Stalin on the bottles) as the part of Italian wine in Shanghai (as the title of the post suggests). In fact it’s Kindzmarauli and Mukuzani, and they are Georgian brands. Please at least, mention it in your post before you publish it wrongly. Sincerely.”
I hope it helps to clarify and if you need to get in touch with me please pass me your email and i will.
Thanks

Hema, first Chinese cashless supermarket
Several months we have heard of the innovative Amazon Go, a “prototype grocery store partially-automated, with customers able to purchase products without using a cashier or checkout station” (Wikipedia).
Despite delays in opening of cashierless store, in order to fix glitches in technology that automatically charges customers (The Wall Street Journal), the future ahead is clearly drawn.
Following on the footsteps of cashierless Amazon Go, China now has its own equivalent: the cashless supermarket: we could not resist going and experiencing it.

Chinese wine consumers are rising
Chinese imported wine market is developing and changing. The major consumers have transferred from “Prestige-seeking Traditionalists” to normal consumers who are younger, less interactive, willing to buy entry level wines. The newly emerging consumers drink wines more often than traditional consumers, expecting to seek cost-effective wines.
